12 December 2002Clouds from both sides nowMonday: high 44, low 40, overcast. Tuesday: high 45, low 40, overcast. Wednesday: high 44, low 40, overcast. Today it's supposed to rain. I realize that this isn't the worst possible weather pattern for winter nothing's likely to freeze at these temperatures but it might be nice to see the sun once in a while, just to jog the old memory cells. And the sunset, such as it is, has gotten to its earliest point (5:17 pm); from this point on, it gets later. (Sunrise is 7:30 am; the latest sunrise, around 7:40 am, will be around Boxing Day.) Sunset here in MT: 4:33 pm. Weird...drive to work in the dark (7:15 am), drive home in the dark. Can't imagine Alaska... Posted by: DavidMSC at 8:11 PM on 12 December 2002If you get far enough north, it doesn't matter: the sun is up for six months, then down for six months. Or something like that. Posted by: CGHill at 8:17 PM on 12 December 2002I used to joke that in Fairbanks this time of year I could watch the sun rise and set during lunch break.
