On the street where you blog
Of the various sites purporting to list just where one's blog falls in the general scheme of things, I find myself most often at BlogStreet, not so much to see my blog in the Top 500 (where it has never been and likely never will be), but to see some of the weirder artifacts derived from their database.
The one that perplexes me right now reads as follows:
Total Blogs: 50446
Total Links: 151278
That's only about three links per blog.
Maybe I shouldn't be kvetching about my lowly position (1657th) after all.
Update, 14 January, 11:00 am: Evidently I misinterpreted that little factoid - see Comments.

~sigh~ How depressing! I just checked mine. I haven't looked at it since I switched to MT. I'm ranked 2021. My old blog is ranked 1419.
Still, there's always the question of how much attention you should pay to these things in the first place. In many ways, it's worse than hovering over your counter statistics.
I'm pretty sure I'll never make the A-list, or even the B-list; but down here in D territory, I rule. :)
Hey, the "Total Links" number, currently 151278, indicates the total number of potential blogs in BlogStreet's databases. And "Total Blogs" is the number of blogs that are qualified blogs - 50446 now.
We are not even counting the number of links we are dealing with!
My apologies. Apparently I jumped to what appeared to be an obvious conclusion without actually knowing the source of the data.
Geez, this stuff is getting complicated. :)
