The Finch Formerly Known As Gold

A milestone of sorts

Consider this:

I'm surprised I'm still doing this two years later.

Glenn Reynolds didn't say that, but it is the second anniversary of InstaPundit, and really, it doesn't seem possible: two whole years?

The Prof obligingly provides a link to his first posts. Historical continuity, y'know.

Oh, that pull quote? That was from me, under similar chronological circumstances.

My hybrid blog is about a month old and I just got an email from a friend asking "Why did you start that?". He said he liked it, but didn't understand the motivation. I'm not sure I do either.

Of course my intitial reaction is to encourage communication of ideas, blah, blah, blah. But it may be that I'm just an opinionated fool.

Any tips o' wise one for a grasshopper?

I blog therefore I am.

not to think this to death, but really we do anything creative to accomplish the goal of extending ourselves outside of the mental realm of our own minds where we secretly all suspect that we dont really exist anywhere else.

Just a bizarre extension of our reproductive programming?

I blog because I like to read, and I like to comment on what I read, and I like to make various libations cycle themselves through people's nasal passages on those rare occasions I am able to do so.

Bruce, I have no doubt whatsoever that you exist outside of your mind. I question whether you exist inside of it. ;-)

One of the spiffiest comments I've ever seen on this metatopic:

"Blogging brings with it the informality of those late-night dorm conversations, but with the persistence of Internet information — nothing goes away."

Source for said quote here.

Wow...and to think that I linked him on my site back in August 2001...it was his entry about cloning.

I doubt he would be as famous as he is now without my linking to him back then.

Hey - I can dream.
