Future shock and awe

On 19 October 2000, I bought a car.

It appears, as of 19 October 2003, that I've bought a house.

God only knows what's going to happen on 19 October 2006. And so far, He isn't saying.

Uh, hmmmm, well be sure to tell us when it arrives! ;)

yeah....a house, and you've probably adopted a mechanic, too. Here's MY 2 cents worth: hope it wasn't a Found On Road Dead Ford. Keep in touch, now!

Well, it's a Mazda 626, which does have one blue-oval component of note: the transmission, which is Ford's CD4E slushbox.

That said, non-scheduled maintenance for the three-year period has consisted of:

Replacement of three wiper blades: $42.

Fixing a pebble-break in the windshield: $40.

Not bad for a car that's been driven to the East Coast and back three times, over and above the workaday routine.

And I do take care of my vehicles: this is only my sixth car ever, and I'm older than dirt, or at least loam.

Congrats on the house! I am in the midst of house hunting. Hopefully I will be as lucky as you in finding something quickly. :-)

Way cool! Congrats. After a quick word association experiment on Mr-I'm-a-guy-so-sue-me I predict that 2006 will follow the car-house-girlfriend pattern. I am confident that by 2006 you will be able to test rule 5.

You bought yourself a mortgage, huh? (grin)

Congrats on joining the ranks of homeowners, and good luck.

Rule 5? Is there a Rule 6?

(I know, I know: there is no Rule 6.)
