Fetch the soft cushions

The University of the Incarnate Word, a Catholic college in San Antonio, is discontinuing its Crusader mascot and team name in the name of, you guessed it, cultural sensitivity. The aggrieved group this time: Muslims. You'd think they were expecting the Spanish Inquisition or something.

Honestly, it amazes me to no end that the Cleveland Indians and the Atlanta Braves are allowed the continued use of their mascots. Chief Wahoo still has that same big-tooth grin at which you would think SOMEbody would take offense, and Lord knows that "tomahawk chop" and chant from the Braves fans certainly stereotypes the Native American in a fairly unflattering manner.

Hopefully I do not speak too soon.

Alright! Now I've got ANOTHER reason to hate San Antonio!

(note to self: add this to the other 379 reasons)

As the descendant of a Union soldier, I'm still waiting for redress of my grievance against the New York Yankees. How many times to I have to whine about how offended I am, before people start taking me seriously?

Hey, I take you very seriously. I'd be offended too if any part of me was associated with the Bronx Bombers, who are shedding a whole new light on the term "BOMB".
