3 March 2005Where's the Undo key?The reaction to the flipping of the columns was mostly negative, and the new BlogSnob format didn't fit well with it, so I reset them to the way they were, with the nav stuff on the left and the content, such as it is, on the right. My apologies to those of you who had just gotten used to it in reverse. Posted at 8:06 PM to BlogorrheaLeft, right, left, right ... sooo dizzy. Posted by: Mel at 8:54 PM on 3 March 2005You wouldn't have to worry about flipping if you only had one column. Posted by: sya at 5:53 AM on 4 March 2005Sir, I put it to you that you are a flip-flopper! Posted by: Lemuel Kolkava at 6:13 AM on 4 March 2005I'll have you know that I flopped these columns before I flipped them. (Sya: Right as usual. Hmmm....) You are a flip-flopper; I'm gonna start calling you Kerry. In my money-making life, we just got through examining the Poynter Eyetrack study and how to best apply it. The reader's eyeball tends to glide to the upper-left first, making that the prime real estate for what you want them to see first (ads in commercial sites, important headlines for others). So you might have been better off with the old style. But don't mind me, I've got the left-nav thing going too, and I don't plan on changing anytime soon. Posted by: CT at 10:28 AM on 5 March 2005Well, I am a Democrat. And I guess I'll keep that eyeball-priority tendency in mind in case someone is goofy enough to want to advertise on this site. :) |
