18 March 2005Callers from hellInsufferable dillholes have been calling here for weeks now, most recently with a bogus Caller ID signature. (Area code "124," my ass.) I don't really know whom they're looking for, and I don't really give a damn. I can, however, recommend that if anyone for any reason ever asks you to return their call at 866-877-0026, do so only long enough to tell them to perform an anatomical impossibility of your choice and then hang up with ferocity. Posted at 5:21 PM to DyssynergyYou're not the only one who's been getting those calls. Posted by: Matt at 8:53 PM on 18 March 2005I know. I did a bit of searching before I posted that, just to see if anyone else was having the same problems. (I mean, how likely is it that they're only calling me? Not very.) Imagine our plight at the phone company listening to people exclaiming "why can't you DO SOMETHING about this????" *sigh* We tell them "don't answer those calls". Response is "what if it's IMPORTANT"??? *sigh* Posted by: ms7168 at 6:45 AM on 19 March 2005If it's important they'll leave a message. Posted by: McGehee at 7:42 AM on 19 March 2005And not a canned "It is important that you call us at the following number" with no freaking identification, either. Anyone who does this to me is automatically classified as an LSS* and will never get any response from me.
Yep. We've been getting canned messages every day since we gave up answering the phone some time ago. I didn't note the number but I wouldn't be surprised if it were this/a scam. We just assumed they were looking for the same fellow that they were trying to find a few months ago, but this is much more likely. Posted by: Deb at 10:34 AM on 19 March 2005I recommend you do not call back for any reason, including recommending anatomical impossibilities. There are some numbers which, when called, authorize others to access your phone line to make long distance and pay-for-listen calls. If this happens, you'll recieve a rather large phone bill and many headaches to clear things up. Posted by: Jan at 11:48 AM on 19 March 2005They really do stop too. I got a barrage of calls from 000-000-0000 and 111-111-1111. After five or six attempts going unanswered they haven't called back. Another thing we take grief over. Those numbers can't be blocked :( When you try you get a "invalid number" message. |
