24 March 2005It ain't me, babeN. Z. Bear warns of the dangers of Google's reverse telephone-directory lookup. In the past I've not found such things particularly reliable, but I duly plugged in the ten digits anyway, and found, to my surprise, that I live in a duplex north of 23rd and Ann Arbor. Also, that I'm a girl. (Neither my alternate number nor my wireless number produced results.) Posted at 6:30 AM to PEBKACIn one of my classes, a young lady was railing against the fact that someone could type your address into Google and get a map to your place. I commented that something like that there was another entity where you could find a person's name and address, and even their location. In fact, it had been around for years; it was called "The Phone Book."
