Wearing a tie, report legions of guys, is uncomfortable: women should appreciate their pain, they argue, since it's very much like wearing pantyhose.
LilRed gives this the "Yeah, right" treatment:
When wearing a necktie in the scorching summer heat gives you a yeast infection, then I'll believe that a tie is just as uncomfortable as pantyhose.
Then again, I can think of no instance in my life where the presence of a tie has elicited a "Nice neck" response from women.
Oh, well. Pass the Windsorstat-7.

Okay, yeast infections, stipulated. So what's wrong with a nice garter belt and a pair of stockings?
I think I'm the wrong person to ask this question.
Besides, it was 99 degrees here yesterday.
Garter belts pinch and cut off the circulation, as do those elastic-topped thigh-highs. But the whole argument over ties and panty hose would be moot if people could figure out how to combined comfort and dignity in one single outfit. So far we have a choice between being itchy and uncomfortable to look grown-up and civilized, and wearing sweat pants, t-shirts, and other such items that are comfortable but make most people look like chimpanzees with multi-colored hide.
Andrea, you're being sensible. Knock it off. :)
