And yet more awards

Yonder cometh the 2005 Okie Blog Awards, put together by Mike at Okiedoke and intended to — well, duh, it's an awards scheme, okay?

Here are the ground rules:

Only Okie bloggers with active Okie blogs at the start of nominations are eligible. "Active" is defined as having at least one blog post during the previous 60 days. An "Okie blog" is defined as having at least one active blog author residing within the state of Oklahoma. All Okie Blog Awards are to be decided only by Okie bloggers. Okiedoke is ineligible for any Okie Blog Awards.

I, of course, make no recommendations, since (1) I would like to create the illusion that I have no bias and (2) most of my readers seem to live in New Jersey. These, however, are the categories:

  • Best Overall Blog
  • Best Political Blog
  • Best Family Blog
  • Best Humor Blog
  • Best Audio Blog
  • Best Blog Layout
  • Best Unusual Blog
  • Best Writing Blog
  • Best Culture Blog
  • Best Inspirational Blog
  • Best Commercial Blog (company sponsored)

At least there's nothing there that sounds like me.

Are you kidding? You are all over those awards! Well, with the exception of Audio. Then again, maybe you are . . . I always forget to turn on my volume when blog hopping.

I have toyed with the idea of doing some audio bloggage, but the very sound of my voice tends to discourage any serious exploration of the concept.

I hope that you don't mean by saying "I, of course, make no recommendations, since (1) I would like to create the illusion that I have no bias" that you aren't going to at least nominate some bloggers. I won't reveal your submissions, and I know your opinion will be appreciated by others.

Also, I'd love to hear a dustbury podcast; even if it's only one.

Aha! So this is why my ears were burning.
