what a crock, okie-dokes seem to prefer campy blogs of ersatz kitsch...nothing pithy....
Balderdash and Poo
I concur. A crock, indeed.
Not all okiedokes prefer blogs of that ilk. (Whatever a doke is.)
And I think dustbury.com would have had a good shot at it if Charles would only have set up a low-wattage radio station.
As a practical matter, the one disadvantage I faced in this race is the fact that the majority of my readers don't read the Gazette, inasmuch as they live in Florida or Connecticut or New Jersey or some other place where you won't find a Braum's ice-cream store. While I do cover local stuff call it a third of the total volume this place has tipped over the line between an Oklahoma City blog that has a small national following and a quasi-national blog that happens to emanate from Oklahoma City. (I hate to compare myself with The Professor, but consider: if Glenn Reynolds didn't mention it every so often, would you even know he was in Knoxville?)
Not that I'm unhappy with the results. Given the content formula I've been using a little something to offend everyone I'm not complaining about beating out whoever was in sixth place.
OR the readers who DO live in Oklahoma City fail to vote in the Gazette poll :(
