19 November 2005Beyond trading spousesAn Oklahoma man is suing the producers of ABC-TV's "reality" series Wife Swap, claiming they sent him, not another woman, but a gay man, causing him to become emotionally distraught. Jeffrey Bedford of Haileyville says the show misled him as to its intentions. Named in the suit: ABC, the Walt Disney Company (ABC's corporate parent) and RDF Media, which produces the show. (First link has been updated.) Maybe if the name of the show had been "Queen for a day" then they could throw out the suit. And if I hadn't been able to flee the premises I would have had to leave the sandwich behind regardless. "Nanny 911" has more redeeming value -- and I only saw thatonce by accident. Then again, there were people backed up in the Walgreen's lot this morning to get a look at Susan Lucci. Just look how bad their getting on TV and to think that DISNEY owns the ABC network Posted by: spurwing plover at 5:25 PM on 24 November 2005 |
