• After a $5 billion verdict in the Exxon Valdez case, Exxon changed its policies to insure it hired no more drunks as tanker captains — and was charged with discrimination by the EEOC.

• Vestal virgins in ancient Rome served for thirty years.

• Some US corporations are hiring surveillance firms to determine which of their shareholders might be likely to make life difficult for management.

• Nine Inch Nails is now considered appropriate for VH1 Classic.

• The Bank of Nichols Hills is expanding — into the space occupied by the Terraluna Grille, which closed for good Saturday.
