The Finch Formerly Known As Gold

Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson

Campus LadiesThat '70s ShowTo the left, an ad in this week's TV Guide. To the right, an ad in next week's TV Guide. I yield to no one in my admiration for this pose, but there is such a thing as overkill, and this is it. At least Maureen Dowd hasn't decided to make use of this particular pop-culture reference — yet. (Click either to embiggen.)

Maybe it's me, but the gam on the left looks pretty puffy above the knee when you biggen up the pic.

It's not just you. There's a couple of spider veins, too. (The "ladies" in question are supposed to be fortysomething; I'm guessing that they're trying to evoke some "ewwww" factor, and forget the fact that there are plenty of fortyish and fiftyish women with legs to die for. Okay, maybe not "plenty," but enough to justify my buying new glasses every couple of years.)

I've always said that. One of the things that keeps me going, I think.

Ted Williams said the legs were FIRST to go. But I think he meant something else.

Definitely I'm taking the second pic. It's that bend in the leg that makes all the difference.
