27 January 2006Not the way he intended to flyHornets forward Chris "Birdman" Andersen, 27, has been tossed out of the NBA for a violation of the league's anti-drug program. Under the agreement between the NBA and the Players Association, exact details of the matter are not available to the public; however, cause for disqualification, instead of a mere fine and/or suspension, would include use of cocaine, meth, acid, or opiates. Andersen will be barred from the league for a minimum of two years. This year the Birdman, in 32 games, averaged 18 minutes per game, 5 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
