(I've been at this for 9 years and 11 months, I've had some form of commenting enabled for approximately half that period, and I've managed to amass only around 14,000 comments.)

Cause some controversy, for God's sake!

Gay marriage seems to really do the trick. Or, better yet, praise President Bush.

I find controversy boring, but I seem to be in a decided minority.

Get people screaming at one another and you'll have comments in the gadzillions. Why people enjoy this screaming so much... who knows?
