Things I've learned

Learning is something I value greatly, especially since I am convinced that during my younger years I didn't do enough of it. So any Cosmic Revelations I can find these days, I cherish.

For instance:

• Proper ratio of frosting to cake: 97:3.

• South Carolina, evidently filled with regret after legalizing tattooing, is now trying to ban sex toys.

• Spanish-language versions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" go all the way back to 1919.

• Should it be your desire that no extraordinary means be employed to keep you alive after you think your number is up, your wish will be granted. Do not expect this to work in reverse.

• Apparently there is such a thing as Portuguese rap.

• In Bee County, Texas, they're calling for boycotting ExxonMobil until the price drops to $1.30 a gallon, or until Pamela Anderson polishes off a bucket of Extra Crispy, whichever comes first.

• I had no idea I was supposed to have a crush on Lindsay Beyerstein.
