23 June 2006Careful with that airbag, EugeneThe ever-quotable Doc Searls is looking for "pounding-on-the-steering-wheel songs" for a 350-mile trip. Having banged on the button a few times in my day, I can appreciate the premise. (To the Ronettes' "Be My Baby," I pound in stereo.) Suggestions are welcomed. (Actual Technorati tag) Posted at 5:36 AM to Tongue and GrooveFunny... yesterday I heard elevator music that had a familiar sound. After walking away still thinking about it, it finally sank in that I had been hearing a symphonic rendition of "Be My Baby", a la Montavani or Lawrence Welk style. Somehow it just didn't do it for me. Steering wheel and airbag are safe... Posted by: Winston at 6:18 AM on 23 June 2006Geez. And I like Mantovani. (Six hundred strings can't be wrong.) I've got several in mp3 form on the CD in my truck. The first one that comes to mind is "The Landlord's Walk" by Blair Douglas, featuring much percussion and bagpipe. Also "B Minor" by Leahy -- a wild tune played on several fiddles in the Cape Breton style. Doc may not be looking for suggestions from me. Posted by: McGehee at 10:26 AM on 23 June 2006 |
