Tam goes through the drill, baby, drill:

Personally, while most people are wringing their hands about getting oil on their seabirds, I’m freaking out because they’re getting seabirds in my oil. A couple of baby albatross feathers will clog up a fuel filter like you wouldn’t believe.

Sort of off-topic, but it frustrates me when people talk about wind power as being the solution to our oil woes. Oil is – AFAIK – very rarely used to generate electricity, coal is much more common.

And unless we’re going to develop something like the GM Prairie Schooner, I don’t think we’ll be able to use wind to power our cars.

I admit to the selfish concern in the matter of the Gulf that I will now no longer be able to get “wild caught” Gulf shrimp. Probably for years.

Gas was $2.75 a gallon today. I expect to see that inch up over the coming weeks.
