Some day my Prince will come

Adrianne Palicki as Wonder WomanGiven David E. Kelley’s past history, what I really want to know about his Wonder Woman pilot for NBC is whether Diana Prince is going to be wearing Ally McBeal-length skirts. (Best guess: probably not, and damn the bad luck.) He’s definitely a revisionist on the costume here, which, says Entertainment Weekly’s EW.com, “de-emphasizes the patriotism and seems to play up the comic’s Greek mythology.” This latter, at least, would seem to be consistent with the rebooted backstory, which has Ms Prince working for Themiscyra Industries, whose CEO is played by Cary (“Westley!”) Elwes.

NBC has said that the series, if picked up, will be “serious” and “non-campy,” which, if nothing else, should make it easier to distinguish from NBC’s news and opinion shows.

“I have an overwhelming need to brush her hair,” said Donna. If the show somehow turns into a hit, I’m thinking there will be dolls action figures which will permit exactly that.

Yeah, I can’t wait to watch it. I will admit, I wish she were more musclebound… oh well!

Yeah, if you’ve got someone wearing tight blue plastic pants, I don’t think you get to shoot for “non-campy.”

I guess I’m far too literal-minded; my first thought on that costume is “Awfully hard to save the world if you’re always worrying about keeping your bustier in place.”

Though, I don’t know, maybe that’s one of Wonder Woman’s new powers. Invisible jet, golden lasso of truth, and stay-put clothing…

I really hope they have the guts to use the Linda Carter-era theme song.

Apparently the reaction to the new costume was so bad that changes have been made.

    (Thanks to Donna.)

I am even more excited now with the updated costume… I like how she looks like a bull in the new picture! (and I mean that in a good way!) She also appears to have more meat on her than the first picture suggested. This is a huge improvement and I can’t wait to watch the show!!!!

(I am worried she will pop out of her halter)
