Yesterday was Thursday

And that means it’s time for another Rebecca Black update. What with the death threats and all, the young singer seems bewildered:

“It’s a song. It’s not like I ran for president. What did I do? I sang a song about a day.”

Extra host Mario Lopez, showing his keen grasp of the obvious, responded:

“There’s always going to be haters. You could have sung about Monday and they would have hated you for that, too.”

Monday, Monday. Can’t trust that day.

Death threats? I hope she releases an entire album, so that:

    1) The makers of said threats will expire from aneurysms and thus remove their faulty DNA from our gene pool, and

    2) I can enjoy watching all of the “Serious Music Fans” who couldn’t tell Germanotta from Geminiani go into thousand-word mouth-frothing frenzies over the Atrocity! and Really Bad Thing! and Offense Against Art! the creation and release of said album would be.

I’m with Brett. Death threats? Really? Have people lost their grip that badly?

Just make a damn parody of the song if you hate it that badly…

… or better still, ignore it. I still have yet to hear the song, and I plan on keeping it that way.

As for the ““Serious Music Fans” who couldn’t tell Germanotta from Geminiani, well, they were born that way, so what else can I say, one-track minds full of mental decay.

I suppose the most amusing aspect of all this was the complaint by holy Hannah Montana that teenage girls ought not to become stars in such a breezy, effortless manner, pointing to her own life squeezing out a marginal existence in honky-tonks, waiting for the big break working for the Mouse House.
