    Are you sure every architectural experiment should be saved?
    Maybe as an urban folly…I don’t know. It looks like a fancy oil refinery to me. But my opinion is only that – mine.

    It certainly scores for distinction, since hardly anything else on earth looks like it. Doesn’t make it technically “beautiful,” but until the floods, it was eminently capable of the functions for which it was designed. And I’d hate to be the guy who tells John M. Johansen that they’re tearing down one of his signature creations.
