Are you listening, Miuccia?
Jennifer, in her not-so-secret identity as Stiletto Girl, explains why Prada should send her their 2012 shoe collection “inspired by American classic cars”:
I like cars. I can drive a standard in 4 inch stilettos… I took a home defense shotgun class in 3 inch heels.
Pretty persuasive. But what about the shoes? Here’s one of them:

The ’59 Caddy tailfin notwithstanding, that’s kind of a cute shoe. Then again, being Prada, it probably costs as much as a transmission rebuild.
And how many women do you know who can work all three pedals in four-inch heels? (My own answer: “Not enough.”)

Shelled the transmission in my 1991 BMW 318ic. Did you know that particular manual transmission requires automatic transmission fluid?
Yeah, me neither.
To have someone replace it was going to cost around $700
Instead, I ordered a salvaged one off eBay for $90 and replaced it myself. I don’t think I was wearing heels for that particular project, however.

I can’t beat Jennifer’s story, but I can say with honesty that I would eschew my no-heels policy for those. Fantastic shooz… LOVE LOVE LOVE… and I can guarantee that I’d be able to manage a stick shift while donning them. Because I’m just that good. And because I can play the footpedal keyboard on a pipe organ while playing the upper keyboards with both hands.

Those shoes are sinfully cute and a brilliant marketing WIN.
I could not only drive standard, but I could double-clutch the downshift and heel-and-toe in the chicanes while wearing them. Because I’m all about keeping the revs up.

Cute. Slightly lethal but cute.

In lust with the shoes, stick shifts not so much.
