A marquee for which I am not prepared

“Zooey Deschanel is Twilight Sparkle.”

Hmmm…

“Dear Princess Celestia: What is your stripper name?”

I’m not seeing it. Though I appreciate the effort to push two of my smaller obsessions into a larger one.

(This is not going over well at EqD.)

just imagine if the movie’s premise was that the main characters came together to play pro basketball, then used their success to launch a fashion shoe boutique in downtown okc!

    :D

Interesting. I’ve been contemplating for a while (based mainly on Rarity’s “midatlantic” accent, similar to what some Golden Age actresses aspired to), which famous actress of the past would be most like each of the Mane 6.

For Rarity, I fluctuate between Bette Davis (I think that’s the better fit) and Kate Hepburn (mainly because of the accent).

Twilight, I’m thinking Grace Kelly…because of the braininess. Or maybe Hedy Lamarr.

Fluttershy at times sounds a bit like Marilyn Monroe (at least to me), but she’s also got the Veronica Lake thing going with her hair.

Pinkie Pie – Lucille Ball. (They even showed that in an episode)

Applejack is harder. Dale Evans, maybe? I don’t know of too many “cowgirl” actresses of the past.

And Rainbow Dash is probably the hardest. Maybe Barbara Stanwyck, who at times seemed a bit more masculine? Or Esther Williams, who was at least nominally an athlete? (Or go with a non-actress athlete like Babe Zaharias?)

Spike I hadn’t even thought about but he’d have to be the classic sidekick, Bud Abbot maybe.

Abbott’s too serious. Let Costello be Spike.

I think I meant Costello (he was the chubbier one, right?) but my fingers typed Abbot. They really were pretty much outside of my sphere of knowledge other than “Who’s On First?”
