Mozilla gets anal

Firefox was antsy (not to be confused with ANSI) to install version 2.0.0.4, so I decided to let it, and a box announced icily that the current Java install was unacceptable and would be disabled. Would I like to let Firefox look for a new plugin? I would, I said, and in entirely too close to no time I was informed that there wasn’t one to be had.

Would it have been so difficult to mention this before the install?

Can you please let us know what platform and OS you are running? I will investigate. Thanks.

Well, how do you like them apples PCs?

Um, I’m running Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

    (Fifty minutes. I’m impressed.)

I just had that happen to me, as well. And if Marcia comes back–XP Pro with SP2, an AMD Turion 64 notebook with 1 gig RAM.

I put off the “update” on my work box; it will be installed the next time Firefox starts. There being a Woot-Off in progress, it will likely be tomorrow before the opportunity presents itself.

Thanks, Marcia. It’s nice to know that Mozilla is watching…

    …at least, I HOPE that’s nice to know…
