When I lived in Enid (97-98), the Homeland was actually pretty good -- but when I lived in MWC (83-86), I was too young and wild to really care about grocery stores. Heh.

If you got one within 10 miles, Crest is the way to go. I will admit to using the Homeland store that is closer to my house when I need only one or two items.

Crest is cheap, clean, they bag your groceries, and they have a kick ass meat/deli section. My four year old swears by the fresh cut pepperoni.

Well, I wonder what they are going to replace the Yukon one with. Homeland already has a store 2 mi from the Albertsons and it is a newer building than the Albertsons. Just curious now.

I still hold a grudge because Albertson's bought out the Lucky chain that I grew up with in NorCal. And then they (1) closed many of their existing Albertson's stores and (2) reopened the Lucky stores as Albertson's stores, and after just a few years (3) withdrew from the market entirely while simultaneously (4) suing a local mom-and-pop for trying to use the by-then-defunct (but apparently not abandoned) Lucky name.

If they were trying to get on my bad side, they couldn't have done a better job.

I'll miss the chicken. I won't miss the high prices. When you charge 40-50% more than Crest or Wal-Mart for the same item, the Okie market will not keep buying from you.
