That long, slow slide

Just to the west, in the town of Mustang:

After a sizzling 42°F yesterday, there’s no ice left; most of what remains turns out to be the remains of destroyed Bradford pear (Pyrus calleryana) trees.

    Saw that speed limit sign on the national news (CBS, I think).

    Not surprising. The Lost Ogle has a sampling of media asking the photographer for permission to republish outside Twitter:

    http://www.thelostogle.com/2015/12/01/this-photo-of-melting-ice-is-apparently-awesome/

    Said TLO’s Patrick about the next one (there’s always a next one);

    [I]t will be interesting to see how many people stand around outside watching ice melt from signs so they can take a pic, hit their 15 minutes of viral photo fame and mingle with Social Media Bandits from the cable news world.

    Some people will really, really want those 15 minutes.

    It’s a cool photo, though.

    If I ever see such a thing, I’ll be too tempted to troll the media.
