Mary Jane in stereo

Cristina of ShoeTease has been crushing on this Nine West (Canada) Mary Jane:

I haven’t worn Mary Janes since I was young. And I mean, really young! I’ve always loved their flirty, school girl appeal, but never thought anyone over the age of 25 could pull them off. But then I started seeing some amazing street style. You know, with these fabulous older women wearing their strappy closed-toe heels with kick flare jeans, boho dresses and more. I was inspired.

Three inches might be just a little tall for a Mary Jane, but I have very nearly persuaded myself that the double-strap array visually offsets some of that perceived vertical. In the States, Amazon is selling this in blue or in grey for $99.

Oh good. I thought this was going to be about the OTHER kind of “mary jane,” the one that’s legal in Colorado, and I wondered what the bleep “stereo” might have to do with that.

That said – I still don’t like “toe cleavage,” which these seem to have in spades.

Mary-janes is about the only style I’m looking for -f.i., spent whole lunchtime walking around DSW on Monday, searching for suitable pair.

No luck – either too narrow, or they have “toe cleavage”, as E. said – which feels unsafe on my feet, as if I’m about to loose the shoe by simply walking – or for some reason a perfectly nice front is ruined by a kitten heel. Or designer couldn’t stop in time and added a third strip, this time around an ankle!
Then I found a perfect, but perfect pair.
But they were avail. only in Red…
