    As a fellow live-alone, I can understand the distress. There’s stuff it just feels like you HAVE to be able to do, and I hate asking people for help with stuff.

    my mother had a very strict rule to follow, that I could not indulge, or wallow around, in a pleasurable but negative recitation. every day I would arrive from my 3rd or 4th grade class, so ready to tell her something I’d overheard and knew was low, wrong, twisted, base, or motivated by a dark impulse. and her rule, nothing negative until I told a positive story first.
