Meanwhile at the Summit

Now kicking for the Lee’s Summit North Broncos, number 95, Nick Havlik:

Nick Havlik prepares to split the uprights

Mr. Havlik is the son of this righteous babe. Lee’s Summit is southeast of Kansas City, Missouri. It is not actually named after Robert E. Lee.

Home of a barbecue place Mrs. McG and I enjoyed very much when a vehicle failure stranded us in metro KC for a few days on the return leg of our 2010 vacation.

The dealer that repaired the ’98 Civic charged us plenty, but also provided us with a Subaru Impreza as a loner so we were able to make, well, definitely more than the least of the layover.

Lee’s Summit is the birthplace and childhood home of Pat Metheny. Some of his early tunes, like Uniquity Road and Unity Village, refer to places in the area. I make it a point to drive through every time I’m near.

He’s also done the track and field thing: decent runner, and last I checked he was working on the pole vault.
