As of a few minutes ago, I am persuaded that it's not all that difficult to get the fixture out of the track. Anyway, that's precisely what I'm going to do: take it to the store and let them swap bulbs.

How hard is it to take the fixture out of the track? If it just twists out — what camera manufacturers used to call a “bayonet mount” — I’d take it to the store and ask THEM to change the bulb.

They’ve got to get feedback on this stuff somehow. How else are they gonna know what they’re selling is badly designed?

IKEA supplied a little suction cup thing for a lamp I had that enabled you to take out the bulb. Unfortunately I’ve never found a bulb to fit in the lamp, at IKEA or elsewhere.

So, yeah, you’ll have to move. Or replace the whole fixture.

This place has a good variety of different sizes and shapes of LED bulbs. http://www.superbrightleds.com/edison.html I ordered several bulbs from them and received them in just a few days.
