Further tweakage
Well, the Live Comment Preview seems to be working fairly well; typical of my adjustments this week, it took about two minutes to install and about twenty minutes to get it to where I liked it. (Thanks to McGehee for the suggestion.)
There are still aspects of WordPress which are an utter mystery to me: for one thing, I can’t figure out the system which assigns post-ID numbers. Yesterday’s posts were 4514, 4517, 4518, 4531, 4548, 4554, 4617 and 4635. (Yes, there were eight posts yesterday.) This one is 4708. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation for it somewhere, but I don’t really have time to chase it down.
Also, I have suspended the requirement that you register and log in before you post a comment; please don’t make me regret it.

Looks great! You actually selected one of my favorite WP themes. I think the simplicity of PhoenixBlue is very nice, easy to read and simple to navigate. I hate all the three column themes that are all the rage now. They are so cluttered and distract from the content, and after all, isn’t the content the purpose of a blog?

I believe the postID numbering is a legacy spamfighting technique, avoiding bots that would ore-target. Obsolete now. You should go with pretty permalinks! Incidentally the comments ID the same way.

Actually, I went with the numerics because all the Movable Type posts from 9/06 onward have “pretty” permalinks, and they’re still in place as static pages for now. At least this way I stand a chance of being able to distinguish the two platforms without having to read the whole URL.

Of course — ultimately the URL structures need to work for you, before anyone else :)
By the way, I meant “pre-target” above. Damn iPod…
