Well, I’ve never really been an advocate of “If you build it, they will come,” though it seems to have worked here.

Incidentally, there are about 20,000 parking spaces within a few blocks of the Ford Center, though only a tenth of them qualify as adjacent.

Well, I was talking about the bunch that originally acquired the then-Kansas City Kings. I really don’t think the Maloofs are really convinced a new arena is needed. This downtown arena business has been a dream of Sacramento politicians since the last time the minor-league-baseball Solons left town.

I dunno. I read a piece by a Kings fan today to the effect that the Maloofs’ desire for 8,000 parking spaces will kill the whole deal for rather a lot of people.

As for the Sonics, I’m not buying any season tickets yet. :)
