Worst cover art ever?
The “most inappropriate,” anyway, says Craig Burrell:

This is a 2002 release (I think) on the French Opus 111 label.
In terms of sheer impropriety, though, it comes second, maybe third, to this early-1970s number:

At least that second one made me laugh (Double entendre, anybody?). But that first one is just creepy. What happened to her eyes? Is that cross on her dress supposed to be Christian symbolism? Who the heck thought that cover up?

On the contrary, I think the first one is so very Catholic. I mean, Italian Catholic , as in Italy, not NJ.
Look at all the renaissance -mannerism -baroque -up to 19 cent. Italian religious painting. Look at El Greco, Caravaggio, at all those saints with epileptic faces, madonnas in quazi-religious ecstasy.
Tons of precedents.
As to the second – Mozart was Viennese. Nuf said.
