I mean, Italian Catholic , as in Italy, not NJ. Look at all the renaissance -mannerism -baroque -up to 19 cent. Italian religious painting. Look at El Greco, Caravaggio, at all those saints with epileptic faces, madonnas in quazi-religious ecstasy. Tons of precedents. As to the second - Mozart was Viennese. Nuf said.
