Well, it certainly can’t have been because of water; it hasn’t rained in ten whole years.

    Wait — didn’t Paul Erlich tell us this was going to happen by the 1970s? I was pretty young then, but the only *catastrophic* thing I remember were three-piece corduroy suits…
