Fuels rush in (1)

$3.099 today. For premium. Regular has dropped below $2.90 at some locations — and better yet, enough locations to make sure that no one has to sit in line waiting.

If you’re keeping score, that’s a sixty-cent drop in thirty days. This does not of course mean that they’ll be giving the stuff away by spring, but the price has declined so quickly the Usual Suspects haven’t had much of a chance to start jawboning again about how cheap fuel makes Mother Gaia cry, so count this as a double blessing for now.

Heading out with a student to do some field research yesterday morning, we spotted $3.09 at one station – which was $2.99 when we returned to town four hours later. A dime’s drop in four hours. (Granted, at 9 am when we drove past the station it was one of the higher priced ones in the general area, but still).

I’m hoping the cheaper gas holds out at least until my mid-fall break. I don’t have time to burn any right now.

Y’all are always cheaper in OKC – regular is still in the $3.25 and up range around here.

It still beats over four bucks, though.

I wouldn’t expect a run on Hummers anytime soon, either.

Think she’d let me sleep on her couch?

Will she have a couch when she gets there…?
