Shuffling behind the scenes

If you were waiting for the comment count to kick over past 12,000 this weekend and it just doesn’t seem to be getting there, you’ll be disgruntled to hear that it’s dropped a bit: while cleaning up some of the files from the last two years I caught about four dozen duplicate comments, which I attribute to inconsistencies in the way I imported those records from the old Movable Type installation. I think I got them all, but I’m not 100-percent sure.

Also, because of this and several other maintenance projects, plus the addition of a new category, the actual post ID numbers will look even weirder than usual for a couple of days. Normal navigation, either page by page or item by item, should not be affected. (Repeat: should not be affected.)

    Just don’t let your drool get in your keyboard. :) (The fudge is really good this year as is the peanut brittle and pralenes.)
