I wonder if that’s related at all to the “I’m going to say what I want and I don’t care what other people think” attitude some of the older ladies I know have developed.
I will say I very nearly quit my executive position in one group over one of those individuals’ constant harping over something I had no control over, but which she apparently thought I did.
So it’s not only me? At least there are two more people?
I have been nurturing the idea of making a series of my post on Guests, but thought it might be construed that my social skills are lacking severely…and now I see that – they are just diminished, and that’s a natural thing!
I look at it another way. As we get older and crankier, we help younger people to develop the social skills they’ll need to be able to see that they’re losing as they get to our age.
I don’t know that my social skills are declining so much, but hermitage looks like an increasingly appealing option as time goes by. But I don’t consider that Bad Social Skills so much as Creeping Introvertedness.
If anything, I’d say my social skills are holding their own while those of people around me seem to get worse.

I think I’ll take it as encouragement.

I agree with Tatyana…it is nice to know that there are others like me.
I can’t get the R.E.M. out of my head, though. Oh, well. At least I like that song.
