Speaking of seals – I see that there is omission in my comment above; it should say “in 5 years we’ll be living among wild horses on a prairie”.
Yesterday I came across this ridiculous soppy TV story, about poor “endangered” wild horses (I think, in Montana) tht the government agencies say got overpopulated due to lack of available free range. The proposal is to decrease the numbers – while of course there is an animal activist objecting to it (“Wild horse is an American symbol blah blah); the solution? take the land from those pesky inconsiderate cattle rangers and give it to the horsies. Let’em run free!

oh, but fillyjonk – the profs will be asked to sacrifice themselves on the altar of Progress – much like all the wealthy people are told it’s a question of conscience to surrender big chunk of their income to the “less-fortunate”. Don’t you want to be sacrificed? I can’t believe it. Boo to you. You know, like Susan Sarandon and such always brag how they will be in bliss if were permitted to be parted with their amassed money – all for the hungry. Or seals. Or whales, don’t forget the whales.

Depends on your area of expertise. The Hard Sciences are likely going to be marked for extinction anyway, since they do such horrible things as extending the lifespan of humans and providing new and improved technological gizmos, neither of which Mother Gaia approves.

Eventually, it will all be Contemporary Art and Multicultural Awareness, and we’ll huddle in the dark in our yurts.

Fillyjonk, in 5 years ther will be no colleges and no architectural schools; we’ll all be living among on a prerie with not a building…forgive me, an item of built environment in sight.
