Perhaps he got an answer

From Newspaper Death Watch, without further comment:

In May, Mike Koehler launched Praying for Papers, a blog whose stated purpose was to encourage “anyone who is touched by this shift in our industry to include it each day in their prayer life.” On July 11, the author said he was going on vacation. The blog hasn’t been updated since.

I’d hate to think something horrible happened to him, but who knows?

(And we don’t. A friend of mine died several years back; he still has a page up on Tripod.)

Koehler still works at The Oklahoman/NewsOK, but he recently was appointed as one of the major online news gurus. That, ironically, appears to have limited his ability to update his blog.

I’m not dead, though Praying for Papers has entered a (probably) permanent slumber.
Frankly, it was getting a little tough to look up and write up all of those layoffs. Then they hit some people I’m close to both here in OKC and in my hometown of Springfield, Mo.
I still pray every day for this crazy business that we’re in and thankfully I’m surrounded by some great, great people and a company that’s really fighting the good fight.
    Thanks for the notice.
