Stilettos forever
Stephanie Simons offers ten reasons why stilettos will always be in style, and this might be the one I like best:
Because when they become painful, it’s an excuse to have someone chivalrous carry you. And if you’re dating someone not-so-chivalrous, you want to find out that information before it’s too late.
Yes, I did notice that she said “when” they become painful, not “if.”

Truly, it is a sad thing that Andre the Giant has left this mortal plane.
I imagine there are few men smaller than he that could pick me up and carry me for any distance (And when good is it to be picked up if he has to set you down again immediately?)
Whether or not a guy opens a door for you is also a good measure of chivalry. (If he doesn’t even when my arms are full and I’m dropping stuff, he doesn’t get a second look.)

These feet don’t need stilletos. If I wear them
a) my feet hurt and I’m crabby
b) I’m taller than all the men at the party and that subtracts “sexy” points
c) Falling flat on my face trying to walk in the damn things also loses “sexy” points

Kay, if you are so tall that stillettos make you taller than all the men, chances are that you are taller than I am in your stocking feet. FWIW, the woman being a bit taller than I has never been a problem from my side.

She said back here that she’d be six-one in a shoe with a three-inch heel, so she’s got to be somewhere around five-ten.

Then she is most definitely taller than me in her stocking feet. Whether or not that subtracts “sexy” points from her remains to be seen, though in her eyes, my three-or-so inch deficit may knock points off for me….
