It’s “a touch of Spring,” says Andrew Ian Dodge as he introduces the 327th edition of Carnival of the Vanities.
The expected snowfall this weekend (they’re talking 3-6 inches!) will surely dampen my enthusiasm, but signs of actual spring should return fairly quickly. Just this week I saw what appeared to be an original Studebaker Avanti on a city street. I think it was an original, anyway; it didn’t bear the “Avanti II” logo that appeared on the post-Studebaker models. (And with the end of Studebaker, subsequent Avantis were upgraded to Corvette power, initially the fabled 327.)
