Lessons from life (one in a series)

All photo paper is not equal: just because it works in your DeskJet, you cannot assume it will work in a color laser.

Hey, at least it wasn’t putting “standard” overhead transparencies in a photocopier. I once watched one of my dad’s colleagues do that by mistake (or by not knowing there was a difference, I’m not sure), then do the shifty-eye-and-walk-casually-away thing when they melted to the copier drum.

Two days later, when the copier repair person came, he remarked: “It takes TALENT to screw it up this badly.”

Yeah, I’m guessing that was a fun cleanup. Or total write-off?

Our laser, at least, survived, though the next sheets of normal paper through it picked up the detritus left behind by the photo-paper incident, which made for some fugly-looking documents. Fortunately, nothing important was in that run.
