I have a rosebush in the back yard that's been sharing space with an evergreen. Last year it did nothing special. This year it's blooming like crazy. (And it's over five feet tall, so it's impossible to miss.) Whatever varieties I have, they're pretty sturdy.

They will come back. Roses, especially ones that not cultivated too much (visually: varieties with fewer petals) are surprisingly resilient.Just cut down broken branches (above a bud), they'll grow again.

Incidentally, today's semi-torrential rain (a couple of inches, half of which fell in 45 minutes or so) did some damage to the rosebush with the darker blooms; it nearly killed a smaller one out of camera range. I've been out removing the bent stems from the premises.

If you look to the left, you can see the concrete starting on its downward path.

Is that where the steep grade is?
Your rain is coming here tomorrow; for now it's suffocating 88F.
I like your rose bush, at the right.
