Whatever MPG

Since I’m not in the market for a new car, jacking up CAFE standards is, from my point of view, a complete and utter waste of time. Not that I should be surprised by this, since time is worth nothing to the government anyway:

The one constant of all leftish regulation is that it puts about zero value on my personal time. Every regulation seems to be about my spending more of my time in exchange for conserving some other supposedly scarce resource. But I have never panicked that we are going to run out of oil or tungsten or iridium or whatever. But I do know that I am going to run out of time, just like everyone else. It is the only commodity I am positive is zero sum.

We will never, however, run out of BS. Too bad you can’t use it to power a motor vehicle.

It’s about time (heh) the government’s runaway taxation of time became a major issue.

We know how the government deals with time: they cut it off one end of the day, paste it onto the other, and claim they’re saving something. Idiots.

Heh. They got away with it for time, and they’ve been using the same approach for everything else ever since.
