340
We’re up to the 340th Carnival of the Vanities, billed by Andrew Ian Dodge as “Carpocalypse CoTV.”
A good word, “carpocalypse”: the implication is that things will never be the same again. The halcyon days of the Detroit muscle-car wars, for which Chrysler’s fabled LA-series small-block V8 was bored out to 340 cubic inches, probably will not return. (Although, you know, it could; Dodge’s NASCAR engine is based on this very block.)
