Quote of the week
The House Financial Services Committee has approved an amendment to a housing bill that would bar public-housing authorities from restricting lawful gun ownership. The amendment, by Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), was adopted on a 38-31 vote.
Which prompted this response:
Carolyn McCarthy, D-NY, a longtime gun control advocate, said opponents of the Price amendment would try to remove the language from the bill at a later point in the legislative process, without subjecting the issue to a recorded vote.
“What we’re trying to do will not involve votes,” McCarthy said.
At least they admit it these days.
Supplemental, from Dave:
Democrats are crossing the aisle to vote for this, and all she can do is hope to kill it procedurally.
Not only are we winning, we are crushing them.
One small step for man, and so on and so forth.

McCarthy is a twit. That’s not name-calling, it’s just telling it like it is.

If they would restrict those who are ILLEGALLY possessing guns (eg convicted felons), that would solve the bulk of the gun-related problems in public-housing.
