And if you could, you'd probably undo all of the careful optimization he's built into the database structure, which strikes me as a Bad Idea, given the sheer size of it. (Forty thousand posts, is it? Not to mention all those comments.)

Yeah, but I'm only using MT on my Mid Century Modern and SF Real Estate blogs. Although I have to confess that my Wordpress install of Daily Pundit is nearly as antiquated, except that Clayton has rewritten so much of the code it is now impossible to update.

I used to nest the blink tag, which only worked on Netscape, with the marquee tag, which only worked on IE.

Throw in the embedded MIDI audio and I was very close to my lifelong goal of being universally hated, lacking only controlling ownership in Exxon-Mobil.

In a related note, your comment preview renders the blink tag, but Wordpress apparently strips it. Where's the fun in that?

I fell back in love with the blink tag when I realized that Firefox rendered it. During the long, cold days of the early twenty-first century, we were shackled to IE, which did not.

Wordpress has been begging me to update ever since I installed it over a year ago... but hey! It's still renders my site good. As far as I know, anyway.

Last time I consulted W3C I think I ended up with a negative score. Now that I've stopped using FONT tags that may change. But I doubt it.

Just for kicks, I put my site into the W3C validation. And got back a report that pretty much says that everything I typed in was wrong. Since I'm not some code monkey, I guess I'll settle for my blog being an online version of trompe-l'œil.
