I read somewhere, before I moved here, that horses outnumber people in Oklahoma??? So that could be a solution. (Well, if you don’t live/work in downtown OKC or Tulsa, I suppose).
It’s really too bad we can’t generate power using politicians and NGOs hot air; we’d be set for life.

It would be well to remember that cars were considered a major advance over horses in part because of vastly-improved pollution levels: even the worst automotive designs don’t leave meadow muffins in the streets.
The calculations in that report do leave room for massive increases in the number of electric cars, though the possibility of converting to an all-electric fleet is pretty remote unless something can be done about the limited range.
